Should I Glue The Ends of My Split Seal Back Together When Installing?

The split ends of our split seal designs are naturally kept very tightly together by the interference (or press fit) between the OD of the seal and the machined bore housing. We do not recommend the split ends of our seals being glued back together as it is quite difficult to get the lip alignment correct. Also, we haven’t done any testing regarding adhesives and their chemical compatibility with our elastomers.
